We can now show you a photo of the British Prime Minister Keir Starmer reaching the Egyptian city of Sharm el-Sheikh, where a international summit of leaders on ending the Gaza war will be taking place on the start of the week.
Amid his regional tour, the Prime Minister will promise a twenty million GBP humanitarian aid package to help supply water, sanitation and hygiene services to the Gaza region during his Egypt trip this day.
This financial support is included in a broader £116m support package in backing for the Palestinian people throughout 2025.
“The UK will endorse the next stage of discussions to secure the full implementation of the peace plan, so that people on both sides can reconstruct their existence in safety and security,” the leader is expected to say.
“Now is the first, crucial phase of ending this war and now we must deliver the second phase, in full.”
