The Comedy Series Brassic Ends Its Run with Tarantino-Inspired Finale
Joseph Gilgun and Danny Brocklehurst are wrapping up on their humorous show about a tight-knit bunch of endearing rogues causing chaos in a rural Lancashire town. You might expect the finale to be a greatest hits victory lap of booze, drugs and cheeky thievery. However, the vibes are distinctly darker as the character Vinnie, played by Gilgun and the crew barricade themselves in a bar with gangster Davey MacDonagh for a final 50th installment seemingly influenced by the filmmaker Quentin Tarantino.

An especially moving installment intertwines the tales of a lame shire horse and a missing young cow into a more serious storyline focusing on Tristan, whose behaviour prompts a brotherly confrontation.

It’s been a long road. Yet the penultimate episode of this at first slow-moving but ultimately compelling series about phone hacking sees David Tennant’s Nick uncovering information about the actions of the News of the World that the other media outlets simply are forced to acknowledge. Things are also looking up for Dave, who has a surprising new ally.
