Liverpool's Star Issues Apology to Liverpool Dressing Room, Says Curtis Jones
The Liverpool midfielder has revealed that the Egyptian forward apologised to the entire Liverpool squad in the wake of the controversy from his recent interview.
The Fallout
Salah was left out from a European match following criticising the club and suggesting his relationship with manager had broken down.
“He speaks for himself and he can say his own stuff,” Jones told Sky Sports. “He said sorry to the group and was like: ‘If my words hurt anyone, please accept my apology.’”
Arne Slot has chosen not to reveal on whether he got an explanation from the player.
Team Unity
He emphasized that the squad's reaction was unchanged. “Nothing about him changed, he had a big smile on his face and it was business as usual,” Jones added.
The midfielder also implied that a player's desire to start is less of an issue. “It's clear there are certain ways you can handle situations,” he said. “But if a lad’s fine to just not start, then I think that’s more of an issue.”
Team Form
The team's performance have stayed unbeaten in the matches since the situation. He feels the forward's comments were not intended to cause disruption.
“In moments of frustration, the source has been from a desire to win,” he finished. “We’re past that now and we’re building chemistry, playing well and securing victories.”
