An Australian man who vaulted over a barricade and touched Hollywood star Ariana Grande has been deported and barred from Singapore.

The man, 26, was handed a penalty to nine days in detention for causing a public disturbance and has now been "prohibited from returning to Singapore," the country's border control told local media.

Wen pushed beyond security and charged at the performer and artist, who was present at the Asian debut for the film on the thirteenth of November. Co-performer Cynthia Erivo intervened to remove him from Grande.

Wen has a history of disrupting concerts and star-studded occasions, including jumping on stage at a Katy Perry performance in Sydney in June this year.

The event sparked outrage in Singapore, with many claiming he of causing further distress to the star.

The pop star has spoken of suffering from PTSD after a suicide bomb attack at her show in the UK city in May 2017 killed 22 individuals and hurt numerous attendees.

During Wen's trial, the judge was informed he had tried to gain access on the red carpet event on two occasions, according to local news sources.

He then made a another effort to cross the barriers. Protection personnel prevented him and pinned him down.

The man subsequently shared videos thanking Grande for allowing his presence and said he was "at liberty."

Authorities detained him the subsequent day and accused him with disorderly conduct, to which the man admitted guilt.

The District Judge Christopher Goh was cited by media reports as stating that the man sought attention, adding that he was wrong to believe he would not suffer any consequences.

Grande has not addressed the case.

Erivo mentioned the incident to the press, stating that she "simply desired to verify my friend was secure."

"I believe he didn't mean us danger, but you cannot be certain with those things, and I sought to confirm that she was alright. That was my first instinct," she said.
