Ex- Doctor Faces Sexual Assault Allegations Involving 38 Individuals in His Care
Prosecutors report that a ex- doctor has been charged with performing assaults involving 38 individuals who were patients.
The Serious Charges
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of numerous sexual offences – including acts against children younger than 13 – spanning the period from 2017 to 2021.
A deputy chief CPS official stated, “Legal teams have diligently worked to support a detailed and complex investigation, meticulously examining the evidence to establish that there is a strong case to proceed to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
Scope of the Police Inquiry
The charges follow what police described as a “detailed inquiry” into reported assaults at medical facilities: the Royal Stoke university hospital and Russells Hall hospital.
Spencer is due to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on January 20th.

Prosecutors said the forty-five sexual offences he is charged with:
- 15 counts of assault.
- Seventeen counts of penetrative assault.
- 9 counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
- Three counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
- One count of attempted penetrative assault.
