Raducanu advanced to round three in three of the four major tournaments during the season.

Emma Raducanu from Great Britain has withdrawn from the last two tournaments this season because of a health issue that has affected her in recent days.

Raducanu, aged 22 was due to play in events in Asia but chose to travel back to recover before starting plans for the 2026 season.

These plans will include coach Francisco Roig, as both individuals will keep partnering in 2026.

She had her blood pressure taken in her opening round versus Ann Li in Wuhan last week and stopped playing when trailing 6-1 4-1 on a day with extreme humidity.

She needed once more a doctor's assessment at the recent Ningbo Open, where she fell in a three-set match to Chinese wildcard Zhu Lin in the first round.

She was also playing with clear difficulty in the final set against Zhu owing to back discomfort that has troubled her on several occasions in 2025.

These outcomes followed a positive campaign, in which she climbed into the top 30 globally after a long gap for the first time since 2022, concluded with three straight losses.

The athlete was close to victory with three match points prior to falling to Jessica Pegula in round three in last month's Beijing event.

The player achieved twenty-eight matches during 2025 and made it to the semi-final round in Washington, but her most impressive week was at March's Miami Open.

As Britain's top player made the last eight of this WTA 1000 tournament, overcoming Emma Navarro, the eighth seed on the way before losing in three sets to fourth-ranked Pegula.

She was coached by Mark Petchey as coach from Miami until Wimbledon, with Francisco Roig stepping in ahead of the US Open.

The initial agreement with Rafael Nadal's former coach was through the season's conclusion but the collaboration persists, with a training session scheduled for the end of the year.

The athlete revealed that the trial session alongside Roig after Wimbledon was like a "black ops mission" as they tried to keep the meeting secret.

She nearly succeeded to overcoming Sabalenka, the world number one at the first competition with Roig in Cincinnati in August.

The coach also accompanied Raducanu in New York, where she advanced to round three before being beaten by Rybakina, champion at Wimbledon in 2022.
